Warranty Information

Your new Surface comes with a two-year standard warranty and 90 days of technical support. Valid in Switzerland only. Please note the warranty conditions: Both new and refurbished parts can be used for repairs. Replacements can be made with both new and refurbished units.

With the standard limited warranty, you are entitled to the following:

  • 2-year warranty for hardware defects and malfunctions
  • 90 days of technical support for pre-installed software by the experts of Microsoft Answer Desk for Surface

In addition to the limited standard warranty, you can purchase extended warranty protection for your Surface with Microsoft Complete. This gives you the right to the following:

  • 2 years of technical support from Microsoft Answer Desk
  • Accidental damage protections, including damage caused by liquid or falling. Applicable to claims for random damages; a maximum of 2 damages will be accepted. 

You can either purchase Microsoft Complete right away with your Surface or order it online up to 45 days after you purchase the device. You can also contact the Answer Desk with your questions after the warranty has expired.

How to Prepare your Surface for Service

If you need to send in your Surface for service, there are a few things you need to do first. Get all the relevant information here.
