If your Surface stops responding or crashes, try the following methods to fix the problem.

Hardware driver, firmware and BIOS updates from the laptop manufacturer are important. 

Here you will find instructions for solving various problems with your Surface.

If your Surface isn’t working properly, you can also try to run tests with the Microsoft Surface Diagnostic Toolkit.

Resetting reinstalls Windows 10 and lets you choose whether to keep your files or remove them. 

If your Surface won't start or the recovery information is removed, you can use the USB recovery drive to access recovery tools and troubleshoot problems.

Data loss can occur at any time and for various reasons. We therefore recommend that you back up your data regularly.
