Delivery times in the Neptune Wave Spring 2022

Lenovo Neptun Apple HP

Since 2020, the PC industry has been struggling with long delivery times, unreliable supply chains and significant price increases in production and logistics. So far, the situation has not improved, which is why various technical products continue to be available only with long delivery times. Together with our distribution partners, we have taken various measures to mitigate the supply difficulties: On the one hand, we have pre-ordered products for our offers very early and generously so that as much product as possible is in stock at the start of the sales window. On the other hand, for the first time and as an exception, we will limit the available quantity of certain items in order to prevent repeat orders for which very long delivery times are to be expected.

Since the delivery times vary for the different manufacturers, we will briefly address all of them separately.

Apple

MacBooks are generally in good supply, especially our recommended configurations. For devices that are not in stock and therefore have to be reordered, a delivery time of 2-3 months applies. iPads are currently rather poorly available. Our partner DQ Solutions has various models in stock, but for many devices a subsequent delivery is pending. The current stock level can be seen after logging into the store of our distribution partner.

HP

Since HP is expecting very long delivery times for reorders, we are only selling our stock items and the pre-ordered devices that have not yet arrived. As soon as the stock items and the pre-ordered devices are sold out, the relevant HP items in the store will be deactivated. After that, ordering will only be possible via e-mail to our sales partner Computacenter via mb.ch.ts-sales@computacenter.com. At HP we have pre-ordered about 1.5 times the number of devices we expect to sell. Despite the limitation, we expect that there will be enough units available.

Lenovo

At Lenovo, we will run the Neptun-typical sales mode of unlimited quantities, as all devices, except the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen9, are in stock in large quantities. The X1 Carbon will be available for delivery around the end of April. However, we reserve the option to limit the number of units or change the sales mode in case of very high demand so that customers do not unwillingly order devices with very long delivery times. In the case of Lenovo, we have pre-ordered approximately 1.5 times the number of devices we expected to sell.

Microsoft und Samsung

Both the Microsoft and Samsung offers are not available for the whole four weeks, but only with limited availability. You buy from the manufacturer's own online store and they both work the same: You can only buy goods that are directly in stock and can be shipped immediately. If a device is sold out in the store, the ordering option is deactivated. We do not have any influence on Microsoft's or Samsung's stock and therefore cannot make any statement about future availability once a device model is sold out.

Dell Monitors

Dell monitors are pre-ordered in large quantities and partly already available from stock. The quantities are not limited. Our two distributors DQ Solutions and Computacenter both access the same warehouse, which means that the delivery times are the same for both distributors.

Peripherals & Accessories: Docks, headphones, printers, etc.

Printers, audio items, Wacom tablets, Logitech and 3DConnexion products are mostly available from stock. Partially a limitation of the available quantity applies. For docks and other accessories from HP and Lenovo, long delivery times must be expected in some cases. The situation is aggravated by the fact that it is practically never communicated in advance how large the next delivery will be and that products cannot be reserved exclusively for Projekt Neptun.
