Pre-sale for UAS, UTE and Colleges of Higher Education Freshmen

Universities of Applied Sciences, Universities of Teacher Education and Colleges of Higher Education require students to have a laptop at the start of their studies, i.e. students must already be in possession of a device suitable for their course of study before the first day of lectures and carry out the necessary installations and configurations on it. 

We do not know this requirement from the universities and ETHZ/EPFL. Students are advised to have a device, but it is not explicitly required. 

For this reason, the pre-sale as of August 15 is aimed at students who are beginning their studies at a university of applied sciences, a university of teacher education or a college of higher education. They will be able to choose from a limited number of HP and Lenovo laptop models from the spring 2022 Neptun Wave to find the right device for their course of study.

The Apple offering will be communicated shortly before the pre-sale opens. Since we are making an "in stock" promise and want to make sure you get your MacBook in a timely manner, we probably won't be able to offer many configurations. Perhaps you still have a reasonably working MacBook and can be patient until the regular Fall Wave, or accept a longer delivery time? During the first weeks of study, no huge projects are tackled yet and most universities have workstations available for more demanding work.

From September 5th on, all students (and university members, as well as other school levels and alumni according to the information here) who are enrolled at a Swiss or Liechtenstein university can order via Projekt Neptun. Then we will have the brand new laptop models and tablets from Apple, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft and Samsung on offer. We will publish these on our website starting August 22.
